A hearty no-bean keto chili with ground beef, peppers, tomatoes and spices, topped with sour cream and cheddar — about 7 g net carbs per bowl.
Serves 4 · Prep 10 min · Cook 35 min
Ingredients
- 700 g ground beef (80/20)
- 300 g chopped tomatoes or passata
- 1 large pepper, diced

- 150 g mushrooms, diced
- 3 cloves garlic
- sour cream to serve
- grated cheddar to serve
- Chilli powder, cumin, smoked paprika, oregano, salt
Method
- Brown the beef in a heavy pot over high heat, breaking it up. Pour off excess fat if you like.
- Add onion, pepper and mushrooms and cook 5 minutes, then the garlic and spices for 1 minute.
- Add the tomatoes and a splash of water, cover and simmer for 25–30 minutes, stirring now and then.
- Season to taste and serve topped with sour cream and cheddar.
Tip. Diced mushrooms give the body that beans usually provide, at a fraction of the carbs.
