Keto fruits, ranked by net carbs
Berries and avocado fit; most sweet fruit uses a whole day of carbs in one serving.
Which fruits are keto?
Most fruit is too sweet for a strict keto day, but not all of it. Avocado, olives, lemons and coconut are fruits that are low in sugar. Raspberries and blackberries are the lowest-carb sweet fruits because more than half their carbohydrate is fibre; strawberries follow closely. Bananas, grapes, mango and pineapple each use a full day of carbs in a normal portion.
Portion matters more with fruit than with any other group. A measured 50 g of berries fits; a bowlful does not. Weighing fruit for the first few weeks recalibrates what a portion looks like.
Put them to work: chia pudding with a few raspberries, or berries with cream, covers most sweet cravings. Fruit is also a common reason for a stall. If weight stops moving, check portions with the net carb calculator.
Lowest: Avocado, Olives. Highest: Banana, Grapes, Mango, Pineapple.
